Hazardous Waste Premises Notification

Sites that produce hazardous waste are required to register the site with the Environment Agency.

Premises producing less than 200 kg of hazardous waste per annum will be exempt from this requirement. Examples of such premises include- shops, schools, universities, offices, hospitals, surgeries, agricultural premises and residential homes.

A total of 200kg is equivalent to 10 small TVs; 14 lead acid batteries; 500 fluorescent tubes or 5 small domestic fridges.
